Branding Yourself, Not Your Company!

How many of you are constantly posting things about your company?

It may come to a surprise to you that you shouldn’t be screaming out the name of the company you’re promoting, but instead promoting yourself! Maybe you’re wondering why you should be yelling out your own name instead.

Think about this.. If you have a lot of content out there promoting your company, and one day it goes out of business, what’s going to happen? All your work about the products, about joining and the compensation plan and whatever else you’ve made, now has no value because your company no longer exists. Not only is your company out of business, now so are you!

Even if your company never goes out business, but if for whatever reason you decide you do not want to be in your company, again, all your content does you no good if you no longer want to be associated with that company.

Branding yourself means exactly that. Tell your story, scream your name, give out your knowledge, expertise and skills. Remember no-one can take away the knowledge you gain, therefore knowledge really is POWER! When you learn something, share it! Make yourself an expert, the go-to person for other people similar to you or who are in the same field.

I personally like helping other network marketers, so therefore my blogs and videos reflect on what can help them in their business. But you are different, maybe you like foods, and if you have the knowledge about it, you could share what you know. Whether it be for recipes, the nutritional value, or whatever- it doesn’t matter. Brand your knowledge and your skill set and stop yelling out the company you’re with.

Well that’s good, but as I said in the post if for some reason you decided you wouldn’t want to be with that particular company if you’ve made content only promoting SFI, for example, then your content wouldn’t do you any good any more. I love my company’s but I don’t scream out their names. You may once in a while see a picture or something associating me with a particular company, and I have made 1 site that is only for my primary. But if one day I quit (which I highly doubt) or if they go out of business, (they better not!!) then that particular site for me will do me no good. That’s why it’s always better to brand yourself….but if you want to do both, then that’s fine, I’m just stating what COULD happen, not what will happen. ๐Ÿ˜‰
